Hello everyone! 

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Christmas at the MTC was fabulous!!! 5 days in and I got to video chat with the family...I miss my cute nephews..... we started the morning off with an amazing devotional with Elder Bednar and ended the day with David Archuleta and Kenneth Cope. David has the voice of an angel, especially with Christmas songs. We also watched a bunch of random Christmas movies that were very interesting....during a workout the boys challenged us to a contest and I maxed out the leg press machine at 400 lbs. I only did it purely out of motivation to not get shown up by a boy Ahaha. 

It's the start of the third week and guess who is the new sister training leader??? Meeee and do I know what I'm doing? Nope, but it's okay because the Lord qualifies whom he calls. My companions and I end each day with a lot of laughter so hopefully, the next two weeks will go by smoothly and then they will throw me out to the real world and won't be in the MTC bubble anymore. My friend Pouafe left this morning and I'm so so excited for her!!! 

Just want to leave you all with a message Elder Bednar shared with us. Relax. Don't worry. Just be good and that is all the Lord asks of us. All the unrealistic expectations in your life, drop them and relax. Enjoy this life and the people around you. Most appreciate the lord. Love you all!!!

I arrived at the MTC safely. In my first hour, I saw Pou and she was my MTC host for the day. 

P-day this next week will be on Monday because of Christmas but my usual P-day for the MTC will be Tuesdays. Talk to you soon

Hello Everyone!! Merry Christmas!!!

I made it to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) safely. What a great time to be alive and well. This past week has been a whirlwind of emotions but at the end of the day the emotion I focus on the most is gratitude. We are in the new building here at the MTC and it's clean and there's amazing lighting so you always feel good. The thing I love most walking around here is these large murals on the walls in all the ponder rooms because they all have to do with an amazing story found in the scriptures and it's nice to think about what that story means to you and how it can change your life. At the bottom, I will attach a picture of one of my favorites and I just encourage you to take a second and think about that story and how it can change your life. 

Fun facts about me is that I'm in a trio companionship which is ironic because I have two lovely sisters at home so this will be a great learning experience on how to further advance my relationship with them. So far I've only met one person in this whole MTC that's serving in the Denver Colorado South mission and he is from Ghana and a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. How coincidental it is that he's from my sweetheart's mission in West Africa and will be serving in my mission. Last cool thing is that this past Christmas me and the sweet Samoan girl I lived with on the islands made a plan to work hard and serve a mission and here we are together at the MTC this Christmas. God really knows what he's doing when it comes to putting the right people in the right place at the right time.  

Spiritually things are great! I feel like I'm at boot camp for the gospel. From 6:30am-10:30pm is a nonstop schedule of learning. One thing that touched my heart last night was a devotional given by Elder Bednar and he talked about becoming Christlike In all we do and he shared this story of a women who called him and informed him that a few girls from her area were going to be life-flighted to the area that he was in and asked if he would go and identify the bodies. She was on the line with him with one phone and on the line with the nurse with the other phone and he overheard that one of the girls was announced dead upon arrival. The conversation goes on and later he heard the nurse tell the mom that they identified one of the girls and it was the one that had passed away and that the girl who passed was this woman's daughter. Her first words were words of love and her thoughts were turned immediately to making sure the other girls' moms were informed and to finish the transport of all three girls. Instead of turning inward and saying why me she showedChristlikee attributes and turned outward to serve others. Background info real fast she is the relief society president and a single mom of this one child. The story goes on like this, on the morning of the funeral for her daughter she is getting ready and gets a phone call and this woman (not knowing of what happened) is furious with her and leaves her this angry message upset because she was sick and nobody from the relief society brought her food and so on her way to her only daughter's funeral she stops by and drops off food to this sister. I want to be as beautiful in the face of my afflictions as this sister was. I want to be able to change myself and instead of turning inward and focusing on "why me" to turn outward and really focus on Christ. I hope all things are well for you guys and I'm keeping you all in my prayers!
